Oh sweet Mama! Congratulations on your littlest bundle of joy!! You’ve made an incredibly selfless decision to bring another life into this world! Your pregnancy is as unique as you are, and so is your baby belly! Everyone’s pregnancy is different, and everyone goes through different stages at different times. But you’ve probably gone through your fair share of feelings about how you look and feel.
When to Schedule your Knoxville Maternity Session
Let me let you in on a not-so-secret secret. Your belly is beautiful. The life your incredible body is creating is a miracle, and I want you to feel as amazing as you look! That’s why I encourage soon-to-be moms in the Knoxville area to plan their maternity sessions with me between 32 and 35 weeks.
I do this for a couple of reasons.
First, I want to make sure your belly is showing! It’s beautiful, and there’s literally a sweet little life growing inside you! This is such an important time in your life, and I want to photograph you and those you are sharing this time with! I want you to feel taken care of, and to ultimately feel beautiful and be able to look back on these photos as some of the sweetest memories!
Second, this is usually the sweet spot – you’re past the nauseous morning sickness days, and haven’t quite hit the incredibly uncomfortable stage. You’re preparing for the home stretch! I want this photoshoot to be as fun and low stress for you as possible!
No worries, though, if this isn’t your story! Remember, every pregnancy is unique, and we can easily make adjustments to fit your needs! If you are carrying multiples, or this is your second (or later) child, you may start showing sooner. And I’m happy to go ahead and photograph your sweet belly!
When to Schedule your Knoxville Newborn Session
The official answer is “any time!” But if you want to know the exact perfect time to schedule your newborn session, let’s take a look! Generally, I love photographing babies between 5 and 10 days old (for in-home and studio sessions).
Any earlier than 5 days, we may run into feeding issues, as it takes a couple of days for mom’s milk to come in. This also gives babies some time to get used to the idea of feeding and work on latch issues, etc. Not to mention, Mom needs time to recover a little bit! And any later than 10 days, your baby may have a lot more gas and baby acne as well.
And most of all, this just seems to be the sweet spot for soothing babies into the sweetest poses you can think of! They love to sleep, and their little arms and legs still “remember” what it’s like to be inside your womb.
For either type of session, the earlier you can get in touch, the better! If you call me the day you find out you’re pregnant, I promise to keep your secret, but I also promise to get excited and squeal with excitement for you!
And even if you forget to call me until your baby is 4 weeks old, I will make sure to find time to work with you and create some gorgeous memories!
