Sometimes, having a remote shutter release works out just PERFECTLY. My brother and his family were in town over Christmas, and with his five kids and my two kids (five of these are all 3 and under!), we had to coordinate the photo shoot around when everyone was the happiest, and had napped enough, and had been fed, and all the lovely complexities that go with toddler-hood. So, I had my handy remote shutter release in-hand, set up the shot, brought all the chairs, and placed people strategically. We only took about 25 shots, but between all of them, we were able to swap enough heads to make the perfect photo! My cute mama (Nana to all the littles), bought a BEAUTIFULLY framed and matted 16×24 printed photograph, and I have never been so proud to see my work on a wall! Not only is it super pretty and coordinates with Mom and Dad’s couch and wall colors, but it is the FIRST time we have ever had all thirteen of us in one place for a REAL photo! Not sure when it will happen again, but I kinda hope this becomes a tradition every year. 🙂
Okay, okay…enough of me talking. Here are the gorgeous photos!
Then it was time for the individual families – here’s my brother and his gorgeous wife, and their sweet kiddos!
And here is ours! All the heart eyes…
And of course, the couple who started it all (below)! They’ve known each other since they were born, started liking each other on a hayride in 6th grade, and have been each other’s “buddy” ever since. I adore their story, and how it continues to unfold in front of us as they take care of each other in this life! Aren’t they CUUUUUUTTTTEEEE????!!!!!! (Side note: I LOVE Mom’s flowy shirt and scarf, and Dad’s manly plaid flannel shirt!)
Mom wanted photos of each of their SEVEN grandchildren, so she could finish a photo project for one of her walls. She kept asking for photos of each of the kids from us, but if she had put those photos up, it would have been really inconsistent looking. So, we finished off our shoot by photographing each of the kids individually! She ended up printing all of them, and putting them in frames along the side of a growth stick my handy husband made for them! So so cute. And now, the finished product of all her new photos complements her entire home decor! Love it!!
Thanks for sticking around and taking a look at all our family photos!
